Here at Nutes we believe in a complete and caring approach to your pet’s well-being in sickness and in health. Our team of dedicated and experienced staff offer advice, preventative health care and first class veterinary treatment at all stages of your pet’s life. We offer a complete service that includes care for farm animals and competition horses as well as household pets.
We are all pet owners ourselves and care passionately about our patients. We treat your animals as if they were our own and will go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure they get the best possible care.
Our comfortable, warm, secure kennels provide your pet with a comfortable bed while waiting for or recovering from surgery. We have separate kennelling to ensure the comfort of larger dogs and a dedicated isolation ward to prevent the spread of any infectious disease. We are able to offer full hospitalisation facilities for pets requiring intensive medical treatment regimes.
Our dedicated operating suite and sterilisation facilities allow very high standard levels of cleanliness and hygiene for your pets when undergoing surgical procedures.
Modern instruments and forward thinking surgical approaches lead to better surgical outcomes and faster recovery times.
Our dedicated radiography room allows us to X-ray emergency cases without delay and achieve the best possible positioning for the most accurate images. We are also able to radiograph dogs for hip scoring for submission and assessment prior to breeding.
Our in house digital image processor allows us to view the images seconds after taking them thus minimising delays in diagnosis and treatment. This also allows is to send images digitally to specialist centres if required.
A modern ultrasound machine allows us to use this diagnostic facility with great accuracy in a huge variety of cases, from non-invasive diagnosis of illness to the excitement of confirming a pregnancy.
Our modern laboratory allows us to process samples of all types from all species, for same day test results.
Where more specialised tests or cultures are required we enlist the services of an external lab that provides us with a 24hour service. This minimises time wasted in waiting for test results and allows faster treatment for your pets.
Geoffrey and Jill Nute set up G & P J Nute Veterinary Surgery in 1976 in Fairpark Road, Wadebridge. In 1998 the practice moved to its current location, a modern, purpose built building, enabling us to cater for patients of all species under one roof. The practice extended again in 2007 with extra consultation rooms, kennels and isolation unit to support our expanding team of qualified vets and nurses. The retirement of Geoffry & Jill from the practice led to Nute Veterinary practice becoming aquired by CVS (UK) Limited in 2012 and now operates as part of this larger group of veterinary practices and veterinary service providers. The team caring for your pets is very stable and happy meaning that the vets and nurses caring for your new puppy or kitten are likely to be the same ones holding their paw in their old age.

We believe our clients value seeing familiar faces and aim for continuity of care whenever possible, we will try to arrange that your animal is seen by the same veterinary surgeon to ensure continuity of care. Our team frequently discusses cases to achieve the best possible outcome for your pet.
